Leggings!

Leggings. When I say that word, many of you may picture a short skirt with some white or black leggings. But not me. I actually listen to Korean Music, and in one music video, there was a girl wearing shorts and a pale green and white leggings. I thought that they looked really cute on her! Of course, this isn't a hard look to pull off, but it may be hard to find really cool leggings. But of course, if you know where to look, you can find anything.

The first place I thought of to look for unique stuff at super cheap prices, was Forever 21. This store has got everything! Most people wear black, white, or grey leggings, while some people go bold. The leggings on the left really stand out. They don't really yell LOOK AT ME! But they do make a statement.

Something that I think really goes with shorts and pink leggings, is a gray scarf. If you look at my previous post on scarves, you can see the color match-ups. Pink goes with grey really well! Try to use this as a base, and build on it. Go with a white shirt to finish off the look.

Don't go overboard. Simple can look striking. As I always say NO RAINBOWS!! This makes you look like a complete fool. You would look like a rainbow just threw up on you!

If you can get a patterned legging that really looks cool, buy it! If you like it, and it really looks cute, go for it! A daring buy on your left. Some people like the color, some don't. I think that this can look 'ok'. But if you make it the center point of your outfit, it can shine on its own. When wearing something as patterned as this, don't wear other distracting colors!

Mix and Match

Okay, this always happens to me: you are staring at the same boring outfit, and you want to change it up! This usually happens to me with T shirts. So how can you use other articles of clothing to make your look more interesting and less tired?

                                  Scarves!
Scarves are great because there is a huge variety of them! You can choose a color that will tie your outfit together. For example, you might have a super bored looking plain T shirt and jeans. How do you spice it up? With a funky pattern! Anything from plaid to stripes, polka dot, pictures, tie dye, or even animal print like shown left! Get a variety of scarves and choose different ones to mathc your mood! Maybe you want to go bold with a bright pattern, or tone it down with a nice soft solid color.

Belts!
I like to use belts to modify shirts that have shapes I don't like. For example, maybe the top to the left was not very flattering to your body: it flared out it all the wrong places. You can easily modify that by putting a cute belt around the waist of a shirt! Experiment by putting your belt in many different places to find where it looks best...

                                                    Leggings
Have you ever looked at a pair of your shorts or a skirt and thought it was boring? Ever thought about putting leggings under it? Leggings come in so many shapes, colors, and designs, you will definitely find something for you! Some people think leggings and shorts look tacky, but if you wear them with the right colors to match, you will look amazing!

More Batmitzvah Styles!

In one of our many comments, was a plea for MORE batmizvah style, so here it is!

Actually, I have to attend a batmitzvah soon, so here are some MORE tips.

As stated before, the service is less formal, and you can wear a skirt (go with a pencil skirt, shown right), and a flowy top (shown left). These look really cute while being totally sophisticated!

Shoes are really important. NO SNEAKERS! This makes you look like you really don't care about this person's batmitzvah and that you would rather be anywhere else. Boots are really good! Try to avoid Ugg's because they don't really look good for parties!

Handbags are necessary! They complete the outfit and make you look super sophisticated. There is a really cute one shown to the left! Also check out Alliecat's post on purses!

For the party part of the batmitzvah, you will need to look formal and cute! You have to wear a dress, as it is what you must do at the party part of a batmitzvah.

Don't wear sparkily dresses, as they just look overdone. Aim for a classic dress, but not one that comes to your ankles, as that makes you look old fashioned. Aim for one that comes either above or right below your knees.

Do your hair up cute! Curl it the night before by putting in in braids, straighten it or curl it! Whatever you think looks good on you!

Try to avoid headbands, because they make you look like you are going to school with a dress on! Keep your hair down, girls think that their hair looks ugly, but it really doesn't.

Jewelry is really cute and can totally make your outfit shine! Try to get something that matches like earrings or a necklace. Don't wear like twenty necklaces, as it takes the simplicity out of your outfit and just makes you look overdone!

Go a tad easy on the make-up. Don't smother yourself with eyeliner, mascara or lip gloss! Try to put reasonable amounts of it on!

That's all for this time! Comment and email us at liveinhotpink@gmail.com

Uggly Uggs!

So its winter and if you go to school, I bet that 99% of all girls at school will own at least ONE pair of Uggs. The brand is popular and makes really warm shoes, but they can also make uggly uggs!

Try to avoid the splatter paint uggs, shown left. They don't really go with anything and just look plain uggly! The colors do pop, but they drag the attention from your outfit, and instead focus on the shoes that just don't look very cute.

The classic, 'double look'. You can pay the amount for one pair of boots, but in a way, get two! This particular boot, shown right, does that! So it can match your mood. The one downside...? The color. Color is one of the most important things when considering clothing. It can match your outfit, show your mood, or show your spirit! Try to not get too bright colors, as it tips off your look at just looks like you blindly threw something on. The four colors that go with almost anything would be brown, black, grey, and white! Before you buy anything colorful, think 'Do I have anything to go with this?'. If you don't, leave it. If you have something that would looks 'ok' then leave it. You want something that really makes you look and feel good! If you think that you will wear it and that you really want it, go for it!

When I first saw the boot, shown left, I thought 'Eww'. The color is ok, but the buttons just push me off the edge. I mean, those colors don't go together and the overall look is just plain HIDEOUS!

Here is a life lesson. Just because it's branded, doesn't mean it looks good. An example is shown right. The colors don't pop, and it looks like it is made for a guy! It looks as if it was made for mountain climbing, or for a particularly boring outfit. Avoid boring things, but also avoid crazy things.

I know that lots of people want to stand out, be different, but there has to be another way. Who wants to wear something fuzzy on their leg? Not me. It looks as it someone shaved a ferret and stuck the fur on their boot. Not the way to go. This boot just spells R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S.

That is all for now! Check our blog daily for more posts! Don't forget to subscribe and leave comments. There will be more on Uggly Ugg's in the future!

More about Make Up

So previously, Sniggy told you briefly about make up. But I will go into a little more detail with it! So follow my guidelines and have fun!

EYE SHADOW: Eye shadow is the most well known form of makeup. Apply it simply with a sponge brush . Wipe the sponge in your makeup and gently and carefuly stroke it across your lid. If you have a lighter color, you can spread it up to your eyebrow, but vibrant colors should be kept lower. Nude eye shadows (left top) are great because you can make your eyes look beautiful and dramatic, without making them attract too much attention. A great way to wear eye shadow is as follows: apply a light shade of nude on your eyelid, and spread it close to your eyebrow using a sponge brush. Take a slightly darker shade, and apply it only to your eyelid using a sponge brush. Finally, lightly brush your darkest nude shade from the middle of each eyelid outward with a brush applicator (right) . This will add contour. (see picture left, bottom)

Lip gloss adds to your look by making your lips shiny and cute. Don't over use it, because you don't want the first thing people think to be "wow she wears a lot of lip gloss!" If used right, it can add to your look, not tear it down. Lipgloss is usually clear, but it can also have color. Remember, you don't always need the brightest color, although those are fun sometimes! Sometimes the nudes can look nice too.

Finally, eyeliner! Eyeliner can make your eyes stand out! I like black eyeliner the best, because it matches your eyelashes and isn't too obvious. To apply eyeliner, just take a eyeliner pencil and gently (you don't need much pressure) stroke it across the very edge of the top lid. It will add to your style without over-adding!

Remember, have fun, find what looks good on you!

Hot necklaces!

The necklace always finishes the perfect outfit! It has to be eye catching and unique to stand out and look cute! That doesn't mean buy the most shiny and colorful thing in the store. It means look closely and try to imagine yourself wearing it!

I love necklaces that really pop and stand out! Like shown to the left. I love this necklace. I think that the way that they put the rings on the necklace is genius! The colors are bright and vibrant! The only downside, is that they have to be worn alone.

I especially love necklaces with lots of things clumped together. Like shown on the right. It really stands out and looks cute with a striped top and jeans!

The classic circle necklace is an all time favorite of mine. It really looks cute and vibrant. See left. It stands out, but not too much. It can shine on its own!

The last but never the least is another classic. A watch inspired necklace. Cute and practical. It can really pop. Shown right. It also looks modern and super cute! An absolute buy for me!!

All of these cute necklaces I found at  http://www.claires.com/store/ . They are really unique!

Nails for Days!

Every girl I know has worn nail polish sometime in their life. Some, more than others. Anyways, you might always put that hot pink color or that aqua blue on your nails, but it might just be time to change it up. There are different ways that you can style your nails. The frequent, two color pattern, such as blue, white, blue, white. Then there is some really cool ways to style your nails. You can make it fade, like shown left. It is hard to do, but it looks really cute! What most girls do is stick little stickers on their nails, like shown above.

Next, clear nail polish looks really cute and makes your nails look all shiny and cute! Also, if you want to protect your nails, put on a clear coat, and then put on the color you wanted to! Check later for more posts on nails!

That's all for this time, but check later for more posts! Don't forget to subscribe and leave ideas in the comments!!

Jean Scene!

So, my everyday out fit is a cute top with jeans, but occasionally a skirt. There are so many kinds of jeans, and you need to know about them!

Skinny Jeans or Jeggings

Skinny jeans are very common in school and out. Jeggings are basically skinny jeans, but that feel like leggings. They are very tight. Skinny jeans a wore best with flowy or baggy shirts. Never wear flare jeans with a flowy shirt, it looks odd because they are both baggy. So pair your cute flowy shirts with a good pair of skinny jeans! The picture to the right is of jeggings. I like that look with a cute tucked in shirt and jeggings. It creates a fun style, and the shirt can be any solid color! If you are wearing boots, like uggs, skinny jeans are you best bet, because they can be fitted easily, like shown on left.

i will get you so you better

Flare jeans are form fitting from the waist to the knee, but then the denim fabric flares out (hence the name.) These jean are paired well with tight fitting, casual tops, like a solid color. They can also be paired with a form fitting blouse, like to the left. Flare jeans shouldn't be paired with boots, because you have to either cover part of the boot with your jeans, or attempt to tuck it into the boots. It does NOT look good.

Jeans are a perfect match for almost every outfit, so if you just want a casual day, grab your favorite pair of jeans and your favorite top!

Skirts

Every girl can learn to love a cute skirt!!! There are different kinds for all types of personalities... and outfits!!! Go bold with a sparkly skirt (shown left)! Or go cute with a patterned skirt (shown right)!

Try not to buy skirts with too much pattern or color. Remember, rainbows are a no-no. Same with the skirt shown left. It has too much going on. The type of skirt that is really in is pencil skirts (shown right)! If worn with a tucked in shirt, it can shine. Try to not wear sneakers with it, as it will ruin it and make you look like a skateboarder trying to look formal. Remember, skirts can look cute!!! Look for the perfect one for you!!

Where To Buy Dresses!

Special occasions often call for dresses. So you might wonder where you can buy cute dresses! Here are some good options

All of the above dresses are from Macy's. You can see that they are very formal, so you can wear them for special occasions! They are all so pretty! If you want to find these dresses, click here. I bought a bar mitzvah dress here and it worked great, and looked awesome!

Another great place to buy dresses is at Dillards. All of the above dresses are from that store! I have been shopping here before also! Check out these dresses here. The dresses are so cute, along with the rest of their stock! So always remeber to feel your best, and look great! :D

Cute winter hats!

Winter is here, but would you want to wear a hat like shown right? Not really. No offence to anyone that owns this hat, but it is a sparkly mess. And what is it anyway? You might have to upgrade your look! See left for a really cute cap that I acutally own! It really looks cute and is really warm! The perfect combo for a winter hat!

You want a hat that can stand out and be cute all at the same time! So why not pick the ones at the left and right? The polar bear just screams adorable! So does the raccoon! Be careful when picking out a winter hat. But make sure you like it. It is going to be your hat after all. Make sure it fits your style!!!

Glasses

So you are at the eye doctor waiting for the results of an eye test. The doctor comes back and says 'Young lady, you are going to need glasses'. For most girls, they freak out. Glasses will look so stupid on me! They will ruin my life! Not really. Glasses can be really cute. Like the glasses shown right are in style right now. The ones with big frames.

What else is in is glasses like shown above, except the front is more eye- catching. This makes you look super adorable! The website for the glasses shown left, is http://www.yesstyle.com/en/list.html?q=Glasses&ss=120&bpt=48. Search around for eye-catching design!!!

Brand Buys!

If you have heard of Aeropostale and Hollister, you know that they are very popular brands for girls. So here is my guide on wearing these awesome brands!

The most common clothes from these brands are graphic T's that just say the brand name, like the one to the right and left. You've probably seen those everywhere. The thin about those, is they are a great casual option to create a simple but cute outfit, but they are kind of boring. You wouldn't want to wear that more than one day in a row.

You might not know it well, but these brands also have regular non-graphic tops too! Especially Hollister. The top to the right is one I got for Christmas. It is very cute, and it is Hollister brand. Aero and Hollister both have kind of dressy tops too! Like the one shown to the left is a Aeropostale top, but it isn't boring, and it is veery cute!

Lastly, you may not know it, but these brands also sell a fine arrangement of jewelry! The jewelry to the right is Aeropostale brand, as well as the one on the left! So you can wear these brands without always being boring ad wearin the same old graphic T shirts from these brands!

~AllieCat

PS. Check out these brands at Aeropostale and Hollister

Headbands!

What's hot and new? Headbands of course! Everyone can learn to love one of these cute accessories! Why? Because there are so many styles! There is patterned and plain, shiny and non- shiny. There will always be one perfect one for you! The headband that is really in right now is one's with little bow's at the side, shown at the right. Also, try to avoid hairbands like shown below, with feathers and ugly colors like deep greens.

Try to wear headbands that are unique. They can look cute and smart while going perfectly with your outfit. As shown right next to the green headband. The pattern is cute and smart because of the belt buckle! Try to look for headbands like these. Keep an eye out for the perfect headband for you! I saw a really cute headband on one of my friends. It had a bow with writing on it. It looked really smart. Also, if the headband is really cute, let it shine by itself!!

That's all for now, but comment and check the blog often! Also, subscribe by email on the home page!!
